Historical Bethel Train Station canopy Renovations & Repair

Bethel, CT

In 2019 Rizzo Corporation completed work on the canopy at the old train station on Depot Place in the Town of Bethel. The canopy is on the state Register of Historic Places and the station and canopy are a wonderful addition to the charming ambience of Downtown Bethel. The Rizzo Corporation was chosen by The Town of Bethel because of our extensive experience working with the Railroad and our resume for historical renovation projects.

The station itself was originally built in 1852 when the Danbury and Norwalk Railroad began service. After a fire in December of 1989, the existing train station and canopy were completed in 1899. In 1996 a brand new station for Bethel was built on Durant Avenue and since then the Historic Canopy had fallen into disrepair, with holes in the roof and rotting wood spilling debris onto nearby businesses. The station currently houses Broken Symmetry Gastro Brewery.
