Rizzo Industrial Projects

A 40,000 square foot addition to an existing corporate headquarters on the west side of Danbury. This addition includes approximately 30,000 square feet of state of the art manufacturing facilities along with a high-tech office and training center. The addition was done in multiple phases in order to keep the existing plant in continuous operation.

Built in the 1930’s, the Bridgeport Jail House is a very easily seen landmark on North St. in Bridgeport. Its primary purpose has and will continue to be the temporary detention of un-adjudicated persons prior to hearings or sentencing. The updated building will meet or exceed current codes for Energy Efficiency, as well as increase the Security and Safety of both the detainees and the staff alike. This new renovated structure will achieve several goals. Not only dramatically improving the look of the structure to the adjacent community, the new pitched roof will survive the rain, snow and ice of our climate to which the old flat roof was succumbing. The $7,350,000.00 project will start March 1 2012 and be complete in one year.

This $18,000,000.00 project includes the construction of a new maintenance and repair facility in the middle of one of the busiest rail yards between Boston and New York City. The building will include new state of the art Independent wheel alignment technology which includes an area where will enable the trains to pass through a dual axel tandem wheel machine which will re-profile the wheels of the fleet of rail cars. This Project began August 2011 and is scheduled for completion.

A $7.2 million renovation to an existing historical D.O.T. maintenance facility. Worked included interior demolition and complete renovation with two additions for egress and the new 15,000 sq. foot, 15 bay truck garage and wash. Work took place in three phases and the building is site were in full operation during construction project feature the construction of the new salt shed and the demolition of the existing shed. Rizzo also supervised the construction of the way stockpile and treatment area to permit proper identification handling and disposing of regulated materials. We also supervised containment, clean up and the control of recyclable materials.

The $6.1 million project consisted of construction of a new maintenance facility with extensive site work. The site. Work included demolition of existing structures, disposal of controlled materials, and racing the great approximately 6' over 6 1/2 acres. The new building is still construction with masonry and metal panel exterior. Is comprised of 12 truck bays, one wash bay, material storage and welding/wood shop. Rizzo also supervised the construction of the way stockpile and treatment area in order to properly characterized, handle and dispose a regulated material.

Building consisted of the construction of a two-story masonry structure to house offices, classrooms, and exercise areas. The $1.4 million project was in addition to the fully functioning medium security juvenile facility and adjacent to a maximum security Federal facility. Work was performed on the surrounding grounds of the facility as well as within the prison itself.
