Rizzo Current Projects

This $18,000,000.00 project includes the construction of a new maintenance and repair facility in the middle of one of the busiest rail yards between Boston and New York City. The building will include new state of the art Independent wheel alignment technology which includes an area where will enable the trains to pass through a dual axel tandem wheel machine which will re-profile the wheels of the fleet of rail cars. This Project began August 2011 and is scheduled for completion.

This 15 million dollar State Dept.of Public Works project includes construction of a 355,172 SF five story Parking Garage, located on the campus of SCSU, adding 1,257 parking spaces on campus. Prior to starting construction, the Rizzo Corporation will be required to build a temporary parking lot to accommodate the existing parking load lost on-site by the construction envelope taken for the construction of the new garage. In addition to their General Contracting building responsibilities, Rizzo will provide logistics planning, project scheduling, construction feasibility studies, safety planning, quality assurance and operational management of the project on-site to assure the project is completed on-time, in accordance with the contract and on budget.

Built in the 1930’s, the Bridgeport Jail House is a very easily seen landmark on North St. in Bridgeport. Its primary purpose has and will continue to be the temporary detention of un-adjudicated persons prior to hearings or sentencing. The updated building will meet or exceed current codes for Energy Efficiency, as well as increase the Security and Safety of both the detainees and the staff alike. This new renovated structure will achieve several goals. Not only dramatically improving the look of the structure to the adjacent community, the new pitched roof will survive the rain, snow and ice of our climate to which the old flat roof was succumbing. The $7,350,000.00 project will start March 1 2012 and be complete in one year.

The $1.6 million project will be a new branch for Union Savings Bank. Work includes all phases of construction including sitework, building shell, interior fit out, and landscaping. The 2,375 square foot building is a wood framed structure with brick veneer. Construction began November 2011 and is proceeding ahead of schedule.
