Rizzo Community Projects

Rizzo Corporation was chosen by the City of Danbury to represent them as the construction managers for this ground up construction project for the citizens of Danbury. The 15,000 square foot Senior Center was constructed within budget in only six months.

Rizzo Corporation was chosen to build this six story, 126,000 sq. ft. parking garage in City Center Danbury. This precast concrete structure offers off street parking close by Danbury's business district. This project was a key element in the Mayor's program to revitalize the downtown business district. The $7.8 million project also called for the upgrade of the neighborhoods communication and electric utilities to meet current needs and standards.

Addition of one truck bay and complete interior renovation to this active firehouse housing both volunteer and paid fireman. One existing apparatus bay was converted over to a fireman facility, complete with offices and bunkrooms. Work was performed in the middle of winter requiring that a truck and most of the firemen’s gear remain indoors, within the construction site, until the new bay was completed.

When all the other contractors faltered in constructing the Danbury Ice Arena, Rizzo Corporation took over and forced completion of the rink in time so the new semi-professional hockey team could drop the puck for their first game. Project consisted of the construction of state of the art locker room and training facilities and the addition of 2,000 seats along with associated retail functions.

Project consists of repairs to 13 existing train stations around the state. Work includes interior and exterior renovation to wood frame structure in Wilton. Miscellaneous repairs include replacement of light poles, structural repairs, concrete repairs, and replacement of tactile warning strip's. The work was performed concurrently at three stations by working closely with Metro-North operations to minimize impact on rail service.
